Is the file really not uploaded?
Really. The page reads a few small chunks straight from disk using standard browser APIs and counts the blocks the file is made of. There is no call to any server: put your computer in airplane mode and try it, it works just the same.
It says recoverable — is that a guarantee?
It's a serious diagnosis, but a remote one, based on the file's structure. Certainty comes when I actually work on it: that's why I send you a preview of the recovered video before asking for a cent. If it doesn't turn up, you don't pay.
Why does it ask for a second video from the same camera?
Because when a camera shuts down abruptly it never gets to write the frame index, which lives at the end of the file. A healthy video from the same model with the same settings holds the exact blueprint to rebuild it. Even a three-second clip shot right now will do.
