Who handles your data

The data controller is Pavlos Simas, Imittou 9, 155 61 Cholargos, Athens, Greece, Greek tax number (ΑΦΜ) 150189020, reachable at contact@cliprescue.com.

What data I collect

• Contact details you enter in the form: email address, device model and your description of the problem.
• The video files you send me for inspection and recovery, together with their technical metadata (codec, resolution, recording date).

This site uses no profiling cookies and no advertising trackers.

Site statistics

To know how many people visit the site I keep an anonymous count of visits, with no cookies and no third-party services: the data stays on my own server and is shared with nobody. To tell visitors apart within a single day I use a code derived from IP address and browser through a one-way function: the IP address is never stored, the code changes every day, it cannot be traced back to you and it cannot follow you from one day to the next. All that remains of a visit is the page opened and the date, kept for at most 400 days. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in knowing whether the site works and is useful (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

The free check is excluded from the count: on that page your browser sends nothing at all, because your file is analysed entirely on your own computer.

Why I process it

Solely to answer your enquiry, inspect and recover the file, and handle payment and the related receipt. The legal basis is the performance of a contract or of pre-contractual steps taken at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and, for invoicing, compliance with a legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).

How long I keep it

• Video files: permanently deleted within 7 days of delivering the recovered file, or immediately on your request. If the recovery fails, files are deleted as soon as I have told you the outcome.
• Email and correspondence: 12 months, so that I can follow up on any later request.
• Invoicing data: for the period required by Greek accounting and tax law (generally 5 years).

Confidentiality of your footage

Files stay on a local drive and are never uploaded to public cloud services. The content is viewed only as far as strictly necessary to confirm the recovery worked. No material is ever used as an example, demo or promotional content without your explicit written consent. Files are not disclosed to third parties, except where required by law.

Who it may be shared with

Your data may be processed by the technical providers needed to deliver the service, acting as processors: the contact form host, the email provider, the file transfer service you choose to use and the payment provider. No data is ever sold or passed to third parties for marketing.

Your rights

You may at any time request access, rectification, erasure, restriction or portability of your data, and object to the processing, by writing to contact@cliprescue.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: the one competent for the controller is the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (dpa.gr), but you may also contact the authority of your country of residence — for Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it).
